The Culture Affects the Economy of Spain
The last reason for the economic crisis in Spain lies in its culture.
In Spain, the companies give all the workers a break after lunch when the workers can return to their homes and rest for two hours. This has lowered the efficiency of Spanish companies and so, it has decreased the productivity of Spain.
For example, the Spanish have more than one month for vacation each year, while the United States does not require any vacation days.
Additionally, the health benefits in Spain does not require that the Spanish work much in order to live a good and healthy life because the government pays the cost of health.
In short, the productivity in Spain is worse because, due to the Spanish government, workers do need to work in an efficient way and the government is responsible for the health coverage costs.
